Hyperhidrosis

Banish Embarrassing Underarm Sweat Patches with Anti-wrinkle Injections.

Excessive sweating (known as hyperhidrosis) is a common issue that over time can negatively impact confidence levels, making you feel self-conscious to raise your arms in public and interfering with everyday activities. Perhaps you’ve tried every antiperspirant on the market, but nothing seems to keep those noticeable sweat stains under control? Then help is at hand, with the simple but highly effective anti-wrinkle injections.

One of the benefits of using anti-wrinkle injections is that it’s an ultra targeted way to tackle severe sweating in the underarm area. The injections temporarily block the chemical signals from the nerves, halting the production of excessive sweat in the treatment area only, so the rest of your body is free to release moisture as normal.

Our SkinSpaceUK Cosmetic Nurses are highly trained in harnessing the power of anti-wrinkle injections to combat hyperhidrosis and will work with you to create a treatment plan that is bespoke to your needs. Anti-wrinkle injections are fast becoming a revolutionary way to keep overactive sweat glands in check, so you can carry on with your life feeling fresh, dry and confident.

Anti-wrinkle Injections for Excessive Sweating – How Does it Work?

You will first be offered an initial consultation with our SkinSpaceUK cosmetic nurse to assess your suitability for anti-wrinkle injections to treat hyperhidrosis. At SkinSpaceUK, we pride ourselves on being able to offer our clients a personalised service.

Once the appropriate, bespoke dosage has been calculated, you can lie back with your hands behind your head as the SkinSpaceUK practitioner administers a series of small injections into the underarm area. It’s a swift treatment, usually only lasting around 15 minutes, depending on the area being treated. Most clients are in and out of the clinic, without any downtime.

    TREATMENT FAQs

    Hyperhidrosis

    Does it Hurt?

The treatment is not considered uncomfortable as the needles that SkinSpaceUK use are super fine, although some clients report a level of discomfort at the needlepoint. Following treatment, any discomfort is usually minimal and brief.

How Long Does the Treatment Last?

The treatment usually takes on average three to five days to start working. The treatment can take up to two full weeks to reach optimal results.
Anti-wrinkle injections are a temporary procedure and at first, you may find that your treatment results will last several months. If you maintain your treatment appointments with the frequency recommended (every six months) the longevity of each treatment may last longer.

What Are the Possible Side Effects and Risks?

While cosmetic medicine is not without complications or unwanted side effects, we do take every precaution to minimise and limit any complications to offer a safe and comfortable service. Reported side effects include but are not limited to the following: redness in the treatment site (usually lasting two to three hours), discomfort, bruising, swelling, dull heavy sensation, occasional headache.
Individual results can vary and are not guaranteed.

How Can I Prepare for the Treatment?

24 hours prior to your appointment, please shave your underarms, and avoid alcohol or using deodorants or antiperspirants.

Do not take any muscle relaxant medications for three to five days prior to your appointment.

It’s best to avoid drinking alcohol for a day or two before and after the procedure. As alcohol increases fluid retention and thins the blood, it can increase any mild bruising at the injected site.

Please advise us of any medications including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Having anti-wrinkle injections with certain other medicines may cause side effects.
Advise us about any muscle or nerve conditions, such as MND or Lou Gehrig’s Disease, Myasthenia Gravis, or Lambert-Eaton Syndrome, as you may be at increased risk of side effects including difficulty swallowing and difficulty breathing from typical doses of anti-wrinkle injections.

    What Does the Aftercare Involve?

Immediately after treatment, there may be small bumps, redness and swelling to the treated area. This is a normal reaction and usually settles in a few hours. During this time, we advise that you stay upright and don’t lie down.
If you experience a mild headache after treatment, please treat with Paracetamol. Do not take Aspirin, Ibuprofen, Nurofen or other anti-inflammatory medications, as this may increase bruising.
Please refrain from using deodorant for 12 hours after treatment to reduce skin irritation. Strenuous exercise and rubbing or massaging the area should be avoided for 24 hours post treatment.

Heat can increase the chances of bruising at the injection site. You should avoid saunas, steam rooms, hot tubs or tanning for four hours after having your treatment. It is also best to avoid strenuous aerobic exercise, or rubbing or massaging the treatment area for 24 hours.

If you are still experiencing excessive sweating 14 days after your treatment, please contact your SkinSpaceUK clinic.
