LED Phototherapy Mask – How Does it Work?

You’re in safe hands with the LED mask, which has been widely validated by leading universities, scientists and even by NASA. Our experienced SkinSpaceUK specialist will first access youryou skin, to create a bespoke LED treatment to target your skin’s individual needs. The illumination LED mask uses different wavelengths (colours of light) to target specific skin issues and penetrate the skin at different levels.

Each colour of therapeutic light is used to treat different skin complaints. Blue light is highly effective in destroying acne bacteria and managing breakouts.

Red light is ideal for targeting the aging process as it promotes cell rejuvenation. Green light soothes and improves sensitive skin, while the yellow light stimulates the lymphatic system and offers relief from redness.

Does it Hurt?

No, the LED mask is a pain-free treatment. Clients often describe their treatment experience as warming, relaxing and rejuvenating.

How Many Treatments Are Needed?

Depending on the skin issues being treated, the SkinSpaceUK specialist will work with you to create a bespoke treatment plan. For long lasting results on fine lines, acne or hyper-pigmentation, we would suggest a course of six treatments initially, with maintenance treatments every six weeks thereafter.

How Long Does Treatment Take?

The LED mask is a really quick and simple treatment. The mask is usually applied for 20 minutes. There is no downtime post treatment. You may appear a little flushed but this usually subsides within an hour.

What Are the Possible Side Effects and Risks?

LED Light Therapy is a gentle, heat-free treatment that does not contain harmful ultraviolet wavelengths and therefore cannot damage skin tissue. There are no known side effects.

How Can I Prepare for the Treatment?

No preparation is needed.

What Does the Aftercare Involve?

Please wear sunscreen post treatment (we recommended OBAGI sunscreen SPF 30+) especially if you are also having anti-ageing treatments at the same time. For 24 hours after your appointment please do not have a facial, rub or massage the treated areas.
