Genosys Multi-Acid Peel

Hold Back the Hands of Time With the Genosys Multi-Acid Peel

Do you want to know the secret to firmer, more youthful skin? The Genosys Multi-Acid Peel may just hold the key. SkinSpaceUK’s experienced  clinicians are experts at administering this popular, revitalising peel, which is so low maintenance and quick it’s often referred to as the ‘lunchtime peel’.

The Genosys Multi-Acid Peel’s magic formula includes Glycolic, Lactic, Mandelic and Phytic Acid to exfoliate dead, dull surface layers, peptides to stimulate collagen, retinol to reverse sun damage and aging, and antioxidants for their anti-inflammatory properties. Harnessing the power of this winning combination of ingredients, the impressive peel rejuvenates the appearance of dull, lacklustre skin.

It’s a non-chemical way to exfoliate with care, revealing the natural radiance that lies hidden beneath the skin’s surface.

The Genosys Multi-Acid Peel – How Does it work?

SkinSpaceUK’s  clinicians will prepare your skin using our sophisticated and powerful bubbling oxygen Snow 02 Cleanser to remove waste and debris from the skin. The Genosys Multi-Acid Peel solution will then be applied to the skin’s surface for up to 20 minutes. Next, sit back and relax while a peptide mask is applied for 10 minutes, before we treat the skin to an application of nourishing repair cream. Following the treatment, your SkinSpaceUK practitioner will advise on the best skincare regime, tailored to protect the skin and boost your results. At this point you’ll be able to leave the clinic and carry on with your busy day – it really is that simple!

This procedure destroys parts of the skin cell connections in a controlled way, allowing renewed skin growth in its place. After any initial redness has disappeared, scaling and peeling may develop and can take a few days to shed, which is a normal reaction and part of the renewal process.

    TREATMENT FAQs

    Genosys Multi-Acid Peel

    Does it Hurt?

The Genosys Multi-Acid Peel is generally considered a pain free treatment and most of our clients don’t experience discomfort. Occasionally, if the skin is more sensitive there may be some minor irritation but this usually fades within 20 minutes or so.

How Often Can I Repeat a Peel Session?

Usually superficial peels can be repeated every two to four weeks. To achieve desired results in conjunction with appropriate skincare products, we recommend a minimum course of four peels.

What Are the Possible Side Effects and Risks?

Cosmetic medicine isn’t an exact science and is not without complication or unwanted side effects. However we take every precaution to minimise and limit any complications. Reported side effects include but are not limited to the following: redness, extreme dryness, blotches, discomfort, burning, bruising, swelling, pigmentation, scarring, infection, blistering, temporary or permanent skin changes.

Please note that the Genosys SRS peeling system is not suitable for those with nut allergies as it contains almond extract.

How Can I Prepare for the Treatment?

For one week prior and two weeks after treatment, please avoid extensive sun exposure and apply SPF 30+ sunscreen as part of your daily skin care routine. During this seven-day period also avoid facials, fake tan, electrolysis, waxing, tweezing, depilatory creams, and laser hair removal.

Please arrive with the area to be treated clean and free of make-up, aftershave or perfume.
Please advise us of any medical condition or medication(s) that you are taking
before every treatment. Certain drugs may counter-indicate treatment and increase the risk of unwanted side effects. We are unable to treat clients with active cold sores or warts, wounds, sunburn, excessively sensitive skin, dermatitis or inflammatory rosacea in the area. Patients with a history of allergies, rashes, or other skin reactions could be sensitive to treatment.

This peel is not recommended if you have taken Roaccutane within the last six months, or received chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

    What Does the Aftercare Involve?

Please avoid picking, scratching or peeling the treated skin. To minimise any discomfort following treatment, we recommend the Soothing Repair Postcream from the Genosys range of products.

Avoid washing your face for the first day after your treatment, and also avoid hot baths and heat treatments for the first few days after treatment. For the first week avoid harsh cleansers, scrubs, Clarisonic or any other scrubbing brushes, washcloths, Retin-A, AHAs, or Benzoyl Peroxide.

After treatment, you may notice that any dark spots or pigmentation appear a little more visible. This is a normal part of the non-chemical peel process, as it
essentially raises this pigment to the surface, before exfoliating it out of the skin. Depending on how deep the spot is, it may take a series of treatments to see the full results but with each peel, you are one step closer to a brighter, more even skin tone.
