Obagi Blue Radiance Peel

Your SkinSpaceUK specialist will be able to access your skin and create a bespoke treatment plan to get the most from the Obagi Blue Radiance Peel. For optimum results, we recommend having a peel treatment every two to four weeks, for a total of four to six peels.

The Obagi Blue Radiance Peel treatment takes around 30 minutes.

While cosmetic medicine is not without complications or unwanted side effects, we do take every precaution to minimise and limit any complications to offer a safe and comfortable service.

Some swelling may occur during the Obagi Blue Radiance Peel procedure, depending on the depths of the peel and level of the skin damage being treated. Peeling and redness caused by the Obagi Blue Radiance Peel are similar to sunburn. In rare cases some patients might experience some itching and weeping of the skin, but should allow the skin to heel by itself and refrain from picking the skin. Complete healing should occur within around 10 days.

For a week prior, and two weeks after treatment, avoid extensive sun exposure.
During this period you should also avoid facials, fake tan, electrolysis, waxing, tweezing, depilatory creams, and laser hair removal.
Please avoid shaving on the day of treatment. Please arrive for your appointment with a clean face (no makeup, perfume or aftershave).
We will not be able to treat patients with active cold sores or warts, wounds, sunburn, excessively sensitive skin, dermatitis or inflammatory rosacea in the area, because the procedure could potentially precipitate a flare up or spreading. If you have a history of cold sores, antiviral medication may be used prior to treatment and continued for one week after.
Patients with a history of allergies, rashes, or other skin reactions may be sensitive to treatment.
This peel is not recommended if you have taken Roaccutane (isotretinoin) within the past year, or received chemotherapy or radiation therapy.

Please advise us of any medical condition or medications that you are taking before every treatment. Certain drugs may counter-indicate treatment and increase the risk of unwanted side effects.

Avoid sun exposure to reduce the chance of hyperpigmentation or darker pigmentation. We highly recommend using sunscreen SPF30+ at all times.
Please avoid facials, electrolysis, waxing, tweezing, depilatory creams and laser hair removal for two weeks after treatment. For the first week following your treatment avoid harsh cleansers, scrubs, scrubbing brushes, washcloths, Clarisonic devices, Retin-A, Retinols, acid peels (AHAs or BHAs) or Benzoyl Peroxide.
Avoid hot baths and heat treatments for the first few days after treatment. Avoid washing your face for the first day after treatment. Avoid picking, scratching or peeling the treated skin throughout the healing process.
To prolong the effects of your Obaji Blue Radiance Peel treatment, we recommend a targeted skincare regime and the application of products such as Obagi’s award winning skin care range.
After treatment, you may notice that any dark spots or pigmentation appear a little more visible. This is a normal part of the peel process, as it essentially raises this pigment to the surface, before exfoliating it out of the skin. Depending on how deep the spot is, it may take a series of treatments to see the full results but with each peel, you are one step closer to a brighter, more even skin tone.
